Official Synopsis for Wits End

"Dying is easy. Comedy is hard." Familiar words for any comic, but for Jason Barnes, comedy provides a brief oasis in a world of confusion, uncertainty and personal turmoil. Wits End follows Jason as he works rooms large and small throughout the country, building a reputation as an up-and-comer in the world of standup. All the while, his off stage struggles to make sense of the world around him threaten to send him over the edge of both a personal and professional breakdown. Honest, bittersweet and often hilarious, Wits End takes audiences on a journey of comedy, sadness and learning to find life no matter where you are along the road.

-Wits End was written and directed by Mike Finazzo and has a running time of 90 minutes.

We're wrapped!

At 12:03 on Thursday morning we wrapped production on our feature film entitled “Wits End”. What started out as our little summer project became one of the most satisfying, fun, productive, educational, humbling, challenging, stressful and best overall experiences of my life. Special thanks go to my brothers Jason WeemsKevin Brennan and Zareiff for not only being great at what they do but for being on set every single day with patience and dedication. Thanks to everyone involved for not only working their asses off but for reminding me what I’d like to do with the rest of my life. I'm proud to know all of you. The best part was… I only yelled once.
I really can’t wait to share the movie with everybody.

P.S. Thanks Laura Keller Finazzo for putting up with me and being an extra multiple times.
P.P.S. This sounds too much like an Academy Awards speech. Let's undercut it by saying blah blah blah Baltimore Orioles and blah blah blah kid with clock.

Filming

We are currently shooting our feature film entitled "Wits End". It stars Jason Weems (Last Comic Standing) and we are crazy pumped about it. So far the shooting has included a heckle, driving, a lot of extras, a Goodfellas style tracking shot and a lot of on and off camera laughs.  I'm super excited to finish it and eventually share it with you guys.

Munsa.

Here is my latest short... It's called "Munsa".  The film features Josh Kuderna (Host of the Digression Sessions podcast) and Kelly Lloyd (From the Baltimore Improv Group) and they are really great in it. It might be my favorite short that I've made so far.  Please watch and share it!

Dad.

Hello again!  Please check out my new short filmed entitled "Dad".  It's about how brothers can fight (even when it's really really not appropriate). Bottom line: It's about family. So think of it as another Fast and Furious movie. Also, Daylon Morrison and Jay Szech are really good in it.

P.S. You are having a good hair day. Keep working it boo.

Homerun Jim.

Please check out this short film that I directed called "Homerun Jim".  It stars my friend Joey Malinski and he is truly hilarious in it.  I've been more into the filmmaking side of things lately and will continue to post videos as they come.  I have a few more shorts coming out and am scheduled to shoot my third feature film in August.  I've also been doing stand up and have a few summer dates listed on my calendar.  It's definitely an exciting, fun and busy time.  Anyway, I hope that all is well on your end.
