Mom (a socially distanced short film)

I hope that everyone is safe.  Here is our new short film called Mom.  We shot this safely and socially distanced.  I was the only crew member and we went as far as to have the actors Jay and Rahmein put the lav mics on themselves.  It turned out great and we're really proud of it.  I hope you dig it and relate to it.

Welcome to this site

My name is Mike Finazzo and I love movies. So far I have made two features and many more short films (all of which you can find in the links to your right). My goal was to make a third film this year before my daughter was born but the Coronavirus had other plans.

I have been a real turd stain when it comes to updating this site but I plan on doing a lot better going forward. My goal is to write about what I'm working on and what I'm watching (and enjoying) these days. I sincerely hope that you enjoy the movies we are working hard on and any film thoughts that I choose to share.

Anyway, I hope that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy during this weird time.  The rest of 2020 has to get easier... right?

Be well,

Mike Finazzo

P.S. Here is a picture of my child. We call her Phoebe because it would have been weird to name a baby "Fleabag".

Official Synopsis for Wits End

"Dying is easy. Comedy is hard." Familiar words for any comic, but for Jason Barnes, comedy provides a brief oasis in a world of confusion, uncertainty and personal turmoil. Wits End follows Jason as he works rooms large and small throughout the country, building a reputation as an up-and-comer in the world of standup. All the while, his off stage struggles to make sense of the world around him threaten to send him over the edge of both a personal and professional breakdown. Honest, bittersweet and often hilarious, Wits End takes audiences on a journey of comedy, sadness and learning to find life no matter where you are along the road.

-Wits End was written and directed by Mike Finazzo and has a running time of 90 minutes.
